  • See you at Melbourne Build 2025

Exciting news for Melbourne, October 22nd and 23rd is the date for a massive full industry collective at the Melbourne Conference & Entertainment Centre. Building Project Women will be there as an Ambassador for Diversity and the Inclusion of Women. This is a great opportunity to mix with other Ambassadors and collectively raise the sisterhood within Building and Construction in Melbourne. See you there

  • Some interesting stats

I recently came across a UK site on project risk and it resonated with me for renovation projects. In the UK (and I assert here) a staggering 70%+ of home renovation projects are initiated by the woman of the house. And if you break that down, that’s alot of projects. So, add that to an industry that is 80%+ (circa 87%) run and operated by men. There’s some interesting project dynamics that could play out here. Then, take the amount of projects that fail. That’s 40% that don’t make the distance. For reasons of budget, incompatible team, variations or scope creep, and disruption of the livability of the household. We can do better.

What If.. We achieved it. What a transformation of the worksite. There’d be plumbers, carpenters and painters going about their day. The difference would be staggering. From 12% in 2025 we would more than double in 5 years. Young apprentices would be supported and encouraged and older women would feel at home in their transition from other vocations. What could we build?
